The purpose of the paper is to develop the relationship between the frequency of dam-water system and the one of the dam only. From the relationship, we would know that there are several essential parameters to influence the frequency of the dam. For example, the height of water, the mode shape of the dam.In this paper, we set up a model to prove the relationship from this paper by simulating at first. At last, we used the real earthquake response measurements from Fei-Tsui arch dam, and use the system identification to get the frequency of dam-water system, and use the math relationship developed from this paper to get the frequency of the dam.
