Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 高階經理人碩士在職專班 === 93 === The aims of this study were to investigate the status and characteristics of long-term care institutions in Taichung area, and investigate the inclination of those institutions to strategic alliances, as well as related factors by visiting manager of institutions. Furthermore, it may provide specific suggestions for those managers of long-term care institutions, and stimulate alternative thoughts on management issues at the same time. A cross-sectional research method was employed by visiting long-term care institutions, 4 interview of with managers and 35 questionnaires of long-term care institutions were collected. The major results of this study are as follow: 1. The basic data of managers: the major characteristics of managers are middle-age female with bachelor degree. The motives of these managers engaged in long-term care are catering to society trend. 2. The status and characteristics of long-term care institutions: the major types of management are private, and unwilled to establish a legal foundation. The hospital nurses are deficient, so more hospital nurses of foreign nationality may be needed. 3. The willingness of those managers for strategic alliances can be classified into direct and indirect care resources: (a) The strategic alliances of direct care resource can provide in time service and its willingness for strategic alliances was high. The operation and management of organization were trend to integrate medical resource. (b) The strategic alliances of indirect care resource provide indirect service and belong to logistic support. The operation and management of the system prefers to cooperate with organizations which may complement each other.
