Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 物理學系碩博士班 === 93 === Abstract We construct a magneto-optical trap (MOT) of the alkali Cesium atom. The density of this Cs MOT is 1010 cm-3. The temperature of the trapped atom cloud is determined about 200μK by detecting the fluorescence image. The precise measurement of the atomic energy level 9d3/2 、9d5/2 、10d3/2、10d5/2、11S1/2 have been implemented in this ultracold sample. The splitting of the above energy levels attract the interests on the topics about the electromagnetic induced transparency (EIT) and electromagnetic induced absorption (EIA). Both phenomena have been observed in the Cs cell at room temperature. The future work will focus on the realization and applications of these two features in the Cs MOT system, such as the light storage and the quantum information process, etc.
