In general, the characteristic of alumina is hard, hard-wearing, high melting point and very stable. The polymer is high plastic, so we can mix with alumina and polymer to develop the new characteristic material. The Research uses sol-gel to control hydrolsis and condensation reactions of the silane coupling agent. The way can make nano-alumina powder coated with self assembled silane layers. The nano-alumina powder coated with silane layers can be a filler of polymers. The research uses FTIR(Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy) and SNMR(Solid Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy) to determine powder surface that had be coverd with silane layers.
