The advantages of the combined control circuit of power factor corrector (PFC) and PWM are also discussed. The function of PWM IC is described and classified and then discrete components are used to design the function of PWM IC based on these information. The PWM control circuit is experimentally performed and is used to control converter and PFC separately. Finally, the PFC and PWM controllers are integrated together to control two stages power converter. The two stages power converter with input voltage range 90~130V and 12V/4A output is experimentally performed.
