It is based on the concept of considering the whole life cycle of the product to minimize environmental impacts. These impacts occur at all stages of a product's life cycle. Although many parameters influence product development, designers have the greatest influence in the product and process design. That is why at the earlier stage of a new product, design can be employed to reduce these environmental impacts by creating more efficient manufacturing operations. The purpose of the thesis is to develop a methodology to support designers to create a greener product for the environment besides solving general product problems. This method is based on TRIZ, which from the perspective of product's life cycle stages try to presents a new design guideline for Eco-Innovative design. This design guideline is conducive for designers to develop lower environmental impact and higher innovative products. Firstly, this thesis will arrange the differences between TRIZ classical contradiction matrix and new contradiction matrix, and then using TRIZ new matrix and statistical technique to develop new recommended inventive principles. The goal is to help designers to solve problems when there are too many contradictions, no contradiction exist and when the contradiction of the problem is unclear. In order to enable designer to establish a green design guiding principle more rapidly and to relatively reflect the request for the design priority, this study will put forward the relevant environmental parameters from every stage of product's life cycle. The link between environment parameters and engineering parameters is established in this study, and the development of product Eco-Innovative design method is constructed through integrating the improved TRIZ methods. Finally, in order to support designers immediately and conveniently using this Eco-Innovative design method, the CAD software - Life Cycle Parameter is developed. The purpose of this software is to assist automation for designers in using this method. This method has been affirmed by case studies, and it certainly can assist designers having a reference concept in designing Eco-Innovative products that reflect to the environment.
