However, this method is time-consuming. Recently, simple OUR batch test was developed by other reports to quantify the heterotrophic active biomass in the activated sludge system. It is a simple but powerful method in practice because (1) it is dependent with substrates uptake rate and relative stoichiometry of electron acceptors; (2) the experimental results are more fit to the practical condition of the system; (3) it is a very cheap and timesaving method; (4) the population distribution within a mixed culture system can be easily and quickly identified in time; (5) it can be potentially fulfilled by automatic equipments and then get the on-line information or control. The ATU and NaNB3B inhibitor were individually added into the OUR batch reactor to suppress and distinguish the activities of ammonia and nitrite bacteria. This method can separate the oxygen utilization rate from microorganisms and estimate the max growth rates (μH、μA、μAOB、μNOB) and biomass (XH、XA、XAOB、XNOB) of heterotrophs (H), autotrophs (A), ammonia oxidize (AOB) and nitrite oxidize bacteria (NOB). Except for setting up the basic batch experimental procedures, the conditions of the temperature, centrifugal pre-treatment, pre-aeration, initial VSS, ammonia, nitrite concentration during the experiment course were also investigated to obtain the optimal batch experimental conditions. And then, the stable and accurate kinetic parameters could be expectedly obtained. Tsai, Yung-Pin 蔡勇斌 2005 學位論文 ; thesis 151 zh-TW
