To achieve the purpose, first of all, relative literatures were collected, rearranged, and organized as the basements of the research structure and questionnaire designing. After that, a questionnaire survey was carried out to request the viewpoints and opinions of the inhabitants in the mountain district. The populations of this study were above 18-year-old inhabitants in the mountain area in Taichung County. Stratified random sampling was applied on this study. There were 1128 samples in total, and 805 valid questionnaires out of the samples, with 71.4% recovery rate. Data analysis included the variations of gender, marital status, academic background, age, occupation, and residence. The study used frequency distributions, percentage, T-test, and one-way ANOVA to analyze the data, and proceeded with a comparison by using Scheffé. According to the research result, three important conclusions were represented as follows: 1.The inhabitants in the mountain area showed strong desire to participate the training courses of community college. 2.Different variations of the mountain-town inhabitants had significant differences on course timeframe, charge, and course designing. 3.Different variations of the mountain-town inhabitants had significant differences on teaching model and short-term course design.
