This research conducted the survey study with academic directors from 708 junior high schools in Taiwan as the main study group. There were 503 surveys retrieved. After screening out the missing value, descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe method, multiple regression, and Pearson’s product-moment correlation were used to test the hypotheses of this research. From the statistical analysis of the results, the following conclusions were drawn: 1. In principals’ leaderships and social support subscale, the average score of all the academic directors in junior high school was falling in the “agree” level. 2. The average score in work stress subcale of all academic directors in junior high school was at the medium level. Among the several domains of work stress, time restriction laid the most stress upon the academic directors. 3. The differences of gender, age, school scopes, educational background, and marital status had no influence on work stress of the academic directors. But the influence of seniority on work stress of the academic directors was significant. 4. The seniority and age of academic directors were negatively correlated with their work stress. The correlation between seniority and work stress was higher. 5. The junior high school principals’ leaderships and social support were negatively correlated with work stress of academic directors. And the junior high school principals’ leaderships were positively correlated with social support. 6. The junior high school principals’ leaderships and social support significantly predicted the scores of academic directors’ work stress.
