Summary:碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 國民教育研究所 === 93 === The study of this research is by means of qualitative research to figure out the learning effect, teaching problems, and item types design of writing teaching of Mandarin workbooks in elementary schools, so as to propose conclusions and advices based on the research. In practice, the research targets at ten elementary school teachers and twenty pupils, by means of depth interviews and documentary analysis. Finally, respective advices will be given to related consultants for the sake of Mandarin workbook editors, Mandarin teachers, and future research. The conclusions of this study are list as follows: 1.Learning effect: All the exercises of the writing teaching of Mandarin workbooks are beneficial to the improvement of students’ writing abilities. However, giving too much emphasis to the exercises focusing on characters, words and sentences will do harm to the improvement of students’ writing abilities. 2.Teaching problems happening to the writing teaching The question forms and the difficulty are not arranged properly according to different grades; the exercises are too concentrated on a certain question form; the question instructions are not appropriate or the answers are ambiguous; the writing skills for different literary forms are not elaborated; the subject of the composition is unsuitable to the students’ life experience or too difficult for the students. 3.Teachers’ and students’ views and suggestions on the arrangement of the writing teaching content The question design should take the students’ grades and abilities into consideration; the paragraph, rhetoric and article structure exercises should be enhanced; junior and middle classes should strengthen the punctuation exercises; cultivate the students’ abilities to observe, imagine, reason, outline, appreciate literatures and revise articles; the subject of the composition should be life-based, imaginative or related to the textbook; the question guide and the model essay should be attached to the composition exercises for students’ reference; do additional reading; find out the learning highlights; improve the quality of the writing teaching; differentiate questions forms by colors; arrange question forms by units; offer related references; the compilation squad should be in the charge of the experienced teacher; the improvement of the question form should consult the composition books in the market; provide the teachers with a proper communication channel to report teaching problems.
