According to this property, chiral macrocyclic polydentate ethers were used as catalysts for several asymmetric reactions,such as Michael addition, aldol reaction, epoxidation, phase-transfer catalysts and etc. This thesis describes in detail the synthesis of chiral ligands and its application. Commercial available chemical—(S)-(-)-Methyl lactate as the starting material to prepared chiral intermediate compound (10),followed by SN2 reaction with different dihydroxy or diamine molecules to produce a variety of chiral macrocyclic polydentate ethers.
