Description
Summary:碩士 === 國防管理學院 === 資源管理研究所 === 93 === This study, by means of social network analysis approach, aims to examine whether Taiwan business groups move towards isomorphism and to understand trend of the strategic development of the business groups in Taiwan. Besides, the isomorphism data of the business groups and the strategic stability in different groups are analyzed to explore if there are different performance among these groups. The subjects in the study are 66 business groups, chosen from the top 100 business groups listed in the Study of Business Groups in Taiwan during the period from 1998 to 2002, published by china credit information service, ltd. The result reveals that the strategic development groups formed by 66 Taiwan business groups have decreased year by year. It means that the strategies of successive development of Taiwan business groups move towards isomorphism. Also, the result confirms the theory of organizational ecology: the environment impacts the organization; the organization evolves into isomorphism. In addition, the data of the different strategic groups indicate that the marked differences in the managerial performance with different strategic only lasted for a short period of time. Moreover, no direct relationship is found between the strategic stability and the performance. The implications of the study are as follows: It is helpful for the academic and practice arena to prove that the evolution of isomorphism in the natural ecology also exists in the business environment. For the business groups, the result also provides the management direction how to plan and draft the right strategies.
