Today our country faces the force threat of China, constructing the military defense ability of determent and using limited national defense budget efficiently is an urgent thing. The research tries to make use of the Data Envelopment Analysis method (DEA) evaluating the military defense ability efficiency to 153 nations. The result through the substantial evidence finds that the military defense ability of our country presents efficient level with various groups of nations. Comparing with other nations, the invested national defense resources in our country had valid used .The national defense scale also attains the certain level meanwhile. From 1993 to 2003, the efficiency of military defense power for whole nations presents a trend for increasing under the Malmquist Index (MI) Analysis. The result shows efficiency improvement at Taiwan is due to whole environment changes. Taiwan presents stable situation in resources disposition and national defense scale when comparing with other nations. This research result can provide consultation to the authorities when measuring for the national defense resource efficiency.
