Summary:碩士 === 國立花蓮師範學院 === 學校行政碩士班 === 93 === The Research on Elementary School Evaluation in Yi-Lan County Abstract This study has two-fold purpose: a) exploring the current condition of elementary school teachers’ opinions on school evaluation as well as its differences in Yi-Lan County; b) proffering substantive suggestions to educational institutions, schools, and those who will engage in the research on school evaluation. The research methods of this study employed literature analysis, questionnaire survey, and interview. The questionnaire employed in this study is “Questionnaire of the Current Condition of Elementary School evaluation in Yi-Lan County” The questionnaires were allocated to 402 teachers in 37 public elementary schools in Yi-Lan County and 290 questionnaires were retrieved. The retrieving rate was up to 72.14% and the number of effective questionnaires was 282. The rate of the effective questionnaires was 70.15%.The retrieved questionnaires were analyzed through the employment of SPSS10.0. The interviews were held via the use of the “Yi-Lan County Elementary School Evaluation Interview Sheet” designed by the researcher of this study. The major results of this research are as follows: 1. Educators in Yi-Lan County have “intermediate-high” agreement degree on school evaluation. The “School Evaluation Process” and the “School Evaluation Results and their Employment” have higher agreement degree, while the “School Evaluation Items, Contents, and Indicators” has lower agreement degree. 2. As for the “whole opinion” concerning school evaluation, elementary school teachers with various backgrounds have reached the significant level as to “onetime participation in school evaluation”, “position”, “years of teaching”, and “school size”. The major suggestions are as follows: 1. Suggestions about educational administrative institution: 1.1 enforcing the propaganda of school evaluation. 1.2 holding school evaluation in the third year of principal’s tenure. 1.3 integrating interviews and evaluation in order to alleviate the burden of school. 1.4 reducing or integrating evaluation indicators. 1.5 valuing the results of school evaluation and monitoring the improvement of the disadvantages. 2. Suggestions about elementary schools: 2.1. alleviating the pressure of administrative agents. 2.2. attempting to reach the consensus of all teachers and have their cooperation. 2.3. facing the interviews with broad mind.
