Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄第一科技大學 === 企業管理研究所 === 93 === Taiwan is known with a thriving fastener industry. However, the relatively high production volume and low output value indicates that fastener industry in Taiwan still has progress needed to make. Meanwhile, the international competition from foreign fastener manufacturers has been fierce. For this reason, the government admits the urgent need of the fastener industry’s improvement. This study adopts Porter’s (1990) “Diamond Model” and applies Chen and Tang’s (1997) “Five-Point Diamond Model” as the study framework. The pretested questionnaires were mailed to all the members of the fastener manufacturer association. The Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) was employed to analyze responded questionnaires. The empirical results show that the market demand dimension is the most significant dimension affecting the international competitive advantages of fastener industry. The critical factors including (1) the product quality and brand recognition, (2) the current growth rate of market demand, and (3) the stability and quality of material supplied. In sum, the technology enhancement and product quality are what needed to focus for the fastener industry in the future.
