Abstract
Nowadays, the Internet is very popular. How to integrate the existed technologies with the Internet and how to create more functions have attracted many researchers. This paper is to implement a Web-Based fax server. It combines two technologies which are telephony network and the Internet.
Our system is easy to use from the I.E. Browser and there is no need to install any softwares or packages in clients. Comparing with the other Web-Based fax server, our fax server not only can send the text files, but also the file formats with the extention file names being bmp、pdf、ppt、jpg、gif、doc、xls and tif. After users have used the upload component to send files to the system, the system calls the translation program to transform the files into tif format. After that, the files can be sent out through fax board card. The system also provides the functions such as member account management、 response of the results of the sending and address book.
Meanwhile, the system has another function that members can upload recorded voice file to the server which then will do mass call-out for the commercial advertisement.
