The method of research is the questionnaire survey, and it takes the nursing staff of "the medicine center", "the regional hospital" and "the local hospital" which is listed in the principle, "All levels of hospitals establishing standard", of the Executive Yuan health bureau as the sample. Sends out 600 questionnaires, and effectively recycles 519 ones. The effective sample return ratio is 86.5%. The mainly researching tool is: (1) the revising "job rotation scale", and (2) the revising "continuing education demand scale". We take SPSS 10.0 for Windows to do the statistical analysis, including Project analysis, Factor analysis, Reliability analysis, the Distribution of Frequency, Descriptive analysis, the t-examination, the Pearson correlation, Two-Way ANOVA , MANOVA and so on. This research obtains the following conclusions: 1. The attitude of the nursing staff of the hospital toward the job rotation is positive and vigorous. 2. The degree of demand for continuing education of the nursing staff is upper-intermediate standard. 3. The more positive the attitude of the nursing staff toward the job rotation, the higher demand for the continuing education. 4. The department of nursing in the university or the college or higher, the nursing administrative manager and the nursing staff whose job rotates four times or above have more positive viewpoint toward job rotation. 5. The married nursing staff, the nursing staff who serve in the public hospital, the nursing administrative managers and the ones that don’t need to job rotate have higher demand for continuing education. 6. The marital status, the annual wage of service, the rotation condition and the continuing education condition have no effect on the job rotation of the nursing staff. 7. The nursing staff in the hospital has different learning preferences. According to above conclusion, this research gave advice to the hospital nursing staff, the hospital, the continuing education planning department, the relevant organization of the government planning nursing on-the-job training, and future further research. 1. The suggestions to the hospital nursing staff (1) The hospital nursing staff should have the ability to make self-examination, to create the demand for continuing education, and to take the opportunity for advanced relevant studies in the light of personal continuing education demand. (2) The nursing staff should view the job rotation with more positive attitude, and gains experience from it. (3) The nursing staff should recognize the benefit a job rotation brings, and voluntarily devoted to the education activities. (4) The nursing staff should voluntarily plan individual lifelong learning activities, and unceasingly absorbs new knowledge. 2. The suggestions to the hospital and the continuing education planning department (1) To establish institutionalizing and goal-explicit job rotation policy. (2) To value the inclination of the nursing staff toward job rotation. (3) The hospital must consider the personal background of the nursing staff and give proper on-the-job training when carrying out the job rotation. (4) The hospital should plan the personal-centered on-the-job training courses according to the continuing education demand of the nursing staff from different individual background. (5) The hospital should consider the learning preference of the nursing staff, and plan learning program. (6) The hospital may strengthen relationship with the university, found strategy alliance, and encourage the study results by issuing the certificate or the license. 3. The suggestions to the relevant organization of the government planning nursing staff on-the-job training (1) To draw up the relevant laws and regulations of the nursing staff on-the-job training, and to place importance on the development of the nursing staff education. (2) To establish the nursing staff on-the-job training organization, which solely responsible for the evaluation of demand and planning of the nursing staff on-the-job trainings. (3) To set up the systems of regularly reissuing the license to the nursing staff, and encourage the nursing staff to persist in the on-the-job training to achieve the goal of lifelong study. 4. The suggestions to further research in the future To propose the reference for further research in the future in the light of the object of study, the method of study and the tool of study.
