The self-made questionnaire of parent participation in elementary school education status is used as the study method. The study objects were the parents and teachers of the public elementary school in Pingtung County. The Stratified Random Sampling is applied for the study. A total of 956 people were given the questionnaire. 695 effective questionnaires were received; 331 from parents and 364 from teachers. The collected surveys are analyzed with SPSS statistics software, t-examination, single factor variation and Pearson Product-moment Correlation. The summarized results are showed as follows: (1) Parent participation is a trend in educational reform; parents in the USA, UK and Hong Kong actively participate in school education. (2) Parents and teachers are positive and satisfied with the parent participation status in school education, but improvement is certainly needed. (3) Higher satisfaction is from the middle educational background and the growth of the single-family parents, as well as the teachers in larger school. (4) Higher satisfaction is from parents in parent participation category, but the satisfaction is low in the parent/teacher participation category in school administration. (5) Both parents and teachers have positive attitudes in parent participation. (6) Parents are more positive and affirmative in parent participation. (7) Both parents and teachers agree that knowledge acquisition and good relationships with teachers are the main motivating factors. (8) There is an obvious positive correlation between the participation attitude from parents/teachers and satisfaction with parent participation in school education.
