To achieve the above purposes, the research adapts the questionnaire and supplementary by focal group interview. Referenced by past research, the study tool is the self-edited ” questionnaire of Parenting Role’s Preception and Parent Education Needs for Foreign Mothers in Pingtung. The main target of the research is the Vietnam and Indonesia mothers in Pingtung who raise over 0 years old children, having 249 foreign mothers to do the questionnaire to collect data. The focal groups are composed by ten members who studied Chinese language in Foreign and China Family Service Center. Statistics analysis basically uses descriptive statistic, MANOVA, and Pearson product-moment correlation analysis. The five conclusions of the research are: 1. Foreign mothers have high conception toward parent role. Foreign mothers also have high conception toward instrumental, affective and educational role. 2. Increasing of mother’s years and parent education’s number, foreign mothers have high conception toward educational role. 3. Foreign mothers strongly consider that they need content of the parental education. The content of the parental education foreign mothers want to know about are highly based on “the cognition and skills to raise children”. The overall like for foreign mothers to the ways of implementation for parent education is high. The ways of implementation for parent education foreign mothers want to know about are highly based on using “mass communication media”. 4. There is difference among foreign mothers with different backgrounds to need the content of the parental education and the ways of implementation for parent education 5 There is a positive relevance between the perception of parenting role and parent education needs for foreign mothers in Pingtung. According to the research findings, this study provides some suggestions to school, Family Education Center, Foreign and China Family Service Center, and some possible directions for the further studies.
