Summary: | 碩士 === 國立屏東科技大學 === 機械工程系 === 93 === This work presents the evaluation on performance index of the golf club wood driver and the standard operational procedure for design analysis. This work also introduces computer aided engineering (CAE) technique that utilizes the finite element commercial software to perform theoretical analysis. Both modal analysis and harmonic response analysis are carried out to obtain the structural modal parameters and frequency response functions, respectively. Besides, experimental modal analysis (EMA) is performed to determine the modal properties of the real structure. The experimentally extracted modal data are then used as the reference to proceed model verification and validation (V&V) process. Upon the completion of model V&V, the analytical model can be used to study dynamic characteristics of the golf club wood driver. The integrated design process via virtual testing is also presented to discuss the difference of modal characteristics of the golf club in different boundary conditions. Three types of performance indices of the club base on the vibration characteristics are defined and used to evaluate the club quality. The strain measurement technique is also built up to obtain the surface strain of the hit-surface of the golf club head due to the impact of the free-fall ball. Finally, the high speed ball impact on the golf club head can then be simulated to predict the stress distribution during impact. The proposed analytical and experimental methodology can be beneficial to the design and performance evaluation of golf club. The idea of virtual testing can be enhanced for practical design application.
