Because of its huge area, the teachers and the students have to use either vehicles or motorcycles to get to other places within the campus. However the traffic often causes car accidents within the campus. This research is based on the thoughts of having a walkway in the campus wherever the traffic is busy. Not only it can improve the use of public spaces in the campus, but can also provide the teachers, students, and the visitors a safe and pleasant environment to work and to study in. The proposal is listed as followings: 1. To create a complete walkway system for the pedestrians. 2. To use the ways of either separating the pedestrians and the vehicles or incorporating both the pedestrians and the vehicles together to improve the safety of the campus. 3. To plan the use of public space in order to shorten the distance between people and to advance the public relations. 4. To use the landscape and sceneries to create a new look for the campus. 5. To plan enough parking spaces for the vehicles and to control the traffic and the numbers of vehicles in the campus. This research includes the directions of the research, references, data collection, data analysis, base research, on site measurement, photographing, observation of the user’s behavior, and planning. There are four parts in the planning processes. They are listed as followings: 1. Circulation (Route) planning: including road for cars, and walkway for pedestrians. 2. Parking spaces planning: including parking spaces for cars, motorcycles, and bicycles. 3. Outdoor space planning: including small group discussion areas, academic exchanging areas, and leisure areas. 4. Creating landscape and sceneries by having planting design, color scheme, and public utilities plans. Robert C. Lo 羅清吉 2005 學位論文 ; thesis 113 zh-TW
