spelling ndltd-TW-093NSYS54570532015-12-23T04:08:15Z http://ndltd.ncl.edu.tw/handle/90118420841925103230 Study of Actions Taken by Taiwan Pork Producers After the Open of Taiwan Pork Market 肉品全面開放進口台灣養豬產業因應對策之調查研究 TSENG-SHOU SUNG 宋增壽 碩士 國立中山大學 國際高階經營管理碩士班 93 ABSTRACT The pig industry is one of the important industry for rural economy development in Taiwan。Gross production value is about NTD 100 billion,which accounts for 51% and 16% respectively of animal husbandry and agricultural production value。It is estimated around six hundred persons are engaged in related field of pig industry。Therefore,in addition to proper rural economy,pig industry is also an important factor for social stability。 Before foot-and-mouth disease outbreak in Taiwan in 1997,it was a gold era for Taiwan pig industry,as Taiwan export big amount of pork to Japan。However pork export suddenly stopped due to FMD outbreak,swine producer suffered enormous economic losses。 In order to enter WTO,in 1998 Taiwan agreed to open pork import by the way of increasing quota progressively,and then ,in 2005,open pork import in all-round way。 Because of high labor and land cost plus high cost to prevent environment pollution,Taiwan pork cost is generally higher than that in the main pork producer。Fortunately,people in Taiwanese prefer warm body pork than imported frozen pork at present。Imported pork is mainly used in pork processing industry,it has not caused immediate threat to the domestic pork。Imported pork only accounted for 7.2 % of total pork consumption till 2003。 Facing the situation,COA(Council Of Agriculture) has drafted a complete plan to support swine producer。In this research,three representative pig farms were choosed for depth interview, and than carry on questionnaire interview to 139 different scale swine farmers located in different area。The result shows swine farmers think that the open of pork market in an all-round way will influence the industry development, but the majority does not cherish the pessimistic attitude。They think except open of pork market,there are many other factors,such as high morbidity of swine disease、waste water treatment、government’s industrial policy etc,will impact pig industry development。 According to the survey results,43% of swine farmer have taken some actions to face the open of pork market, the major actions include to improve breed stock、to create brand pork、good swine farm authentication、to enter pig cooperative society and to raise black hair pig。 Key Word :open of pork market,pig industry Bih-Shiaw Jaw I-heng Chen 趙必孝 陳以亨 2005 學位論文 ; thesis 92 zh-TW
