Among this curriculum, “flexible learning hours” took the percentage of 9% to 19% in total learning hours, providing schools a sufficient space to deal with course arrangement in an individual way. Therefore, the purpose of this research was to provide some discussion about how to plan curriculum of “flexible learning hours” for elementary schools in Nantou County and also realize the current practicing circumstance for some recommendations about the course arrangement for “flexible learning hours” in the future. The subjects of this study were teachers of elementary schools in Nantou County. This study was conducted by questionnaires investigation. In addition, the data was collected with 50 elementary schools and 300 teachers. The effective questionnaire samples were 269 pieces with 89.67% effective return rate. The study method of this research was written by myself, called “The research questionnaire of the implementation of flexible curriculum for elementary schools in Nantou County”. The data was analyzed statistically by frequency distribution, percentage and Chi-Square test. The following were the primary results for this research: 1.Most elementary schools in Nantou County had a well-organized planning in designing the flexible curriculum. 2.Most of planning of flexible curriculum for elementary schools in Nantou County included the activities for classes, school years and the entire school with the individually established courses. 3.Most of the flexible curriculum for elementary schools in Nantou County were designed by the teachers and the administrative of school. Some small part of schools’ curriculum also had students, student parents, communities, experts, scholars and book publisher join the designing plan of it. 4.When most of elementary schools plan flexible curriculum, they tended to take a full consideration into government policy, the future vision of school, teachers, facilities, the characteristics of students, the expectation of parents and the entire development of school. 5.Most elementary schools in Nantou County had an abundant content for the flexible curriculum. 6.In most of elementary schools in Nantou County, the teaching methods were well conducted in multiple dimensions. 7.Most of flexible curriculums for elementary schools in Nantou County were taught by grade advisors. Besides, the teaching resource also included subject teachers, the administrative, parents, specialists of the community, experts and scholars. 8.The effect for most elementary schools that practice flexible curriculum in Nantou County was fruitful. 9.For most elementary schools in Nantou County, they still had some trouble in practicing the flexible curriculum. Among these troubles, the problems of insufficient teacher and school resource required the cooperative support of schools and the government. According to the research results, this research proposed some suggestions for educational administration organizations, teacher cultivator institutions, school administration system and teachers, and the further studies in the future.
