The stratified random sampling is adopted in the questionnaire of this research. This research uses “Environmental Ethic Belief Scale” and “Animal Protection-Behavior Scale” as measurement tools and analyzes whether these two scale result of teachers were influenced by the variable of personal background or not. Variable of personal background is divided into demographic variable and environmental experience variable. The demographic variable has four items, that is , gender, seniority, educational background and work in school. The environmental experience variable has eight items, namely, selected courses relevant to environment, participated workshop of environmental education, experiences of eating wild animal, participated environmental protection group, raised animal, made animal experiment, read wild animal protection law or animal protection law, and strayed cats or dogs appeared near home frequently. The research results are: 1.The environmental ethic beliefs of teachers postivelytend to be “non-anthropocentric ethic”. 2.Between teachers’ environmental ethic beliefs and the experiences of eating wild life have significant correlation. 3.As a whole, elementary school teachers in Nantou County have high scores in animal protection-behavior, and tend to be positive. Male teachers and female teachers have significant difference in “Civic action”; mean scores of male teachers are higher than female teachers. The total scores of animal protection-behavior variable and the scores of sub-variable “Educational action” in the factor of participated seminar of environmental education have significant difference; The scores of teachers who participated seminar of environmental education are higher than those teachers not participated. The total scores of animal protection-behavior and the scores of “Financial action” and “Physical action” in the factor of experiences of eating wild animal at restaurants have significant difference. Scores of teachers that never ate wild animals are higher than teachers who ate. Teachers that participated environmental protection groups had better performance in the animal protection-behavior of “Civic action”, “Educational action” and “Financial action”. The total scores in animal protection-behavior also have significant difference. In terms of reading laws relevant to animal protection, this factor and the total scores of animal protection-behavior and scores of sub-variable “Educational action” have significant difference; scores of teachers who read laws relevant to animal protection are higher than teacher never read. 4.The environmental ethic beliefs and animal protect-behavior of elementary school teachers in Nantou County have significant positive correlation Liu,Hui-yuen 劉惠元 2005 學位論文 ; thesis 142 zh-TW
