This main goal is to explore the connections between Cost-sharing and the student loan system in Taiwan. This research is based on the concept: cost-sharing in higher education. In this research, documentary analysis is taken to explore the contents of the policies of the banks and MOE. The method, statistical analysis, is used to present the data shown for the student loans in Taiwan. The research data was provided by the Center for Higher Education Research, National Tsing-Hua University. The main findings of this research include: 1.Diversity in lawmaking: the reason why government has student loan system is to assist and encourage students in finical problem rather than asking poor students to share the educational cost. 2.Difference in cost sharing and cognitive cost-recovery theory: parents still pay tuition and fees from this research. In that situation, the cost sharing and cost-recovery do not apply to the student loan policies in Taiwan. According to this research, some suggestions for post-research are proposed as following: 1.Collecting more information about student loan. 2.Understanding and comparing foreign student loan system and it origins. 3.Interviewing educational officials, finding the true meanings behind policy. 4.Having deep research in arrears. 5.Probing into the connections between tuition policy and student loan system 6.Explorer the connections between student loan and the factors of the applicants’background.
