In the thesis, the vision-based stepper motor control system, which is equipped with FPGA, can achieve the tasks of contour following and dynamic tracking. The system architecture is as follows. The plant is made of two stepper motors which make the laser pointer rotate horizontally and vertically independently. By the image of laser point on the webcam, the information of position error can be sensed. This signal is then sent to controller to issue actuating signal to correct the stepper motor position.
