Summary:碩士 === 國立臺東大學 === 兒童文學研究所 === 93 === Childhood – Relevant to Reading, Imagination and Thinking Abstract The objective of this research is focus on the children from the border area of Taitung County, particularly adoption of second to sixth grade, total 5 years diary as a sample to study. Research studies are also participants in gathering of a diverse methodology, including analyses the diary, discussing, interviewing and observing with their parents and same age generation for the best judgment. This research divides into five chapters.  Chapter one is the introduction, state the researcher’s background, motive, research purpose, question, method, procedure, range and restriction….etc.  Chapter two, reference document discussion.  Chapter three, childhood records, which is including the coding of data, records of children reading, imagination and thinking.  Chapter four, data analysis and discussion, which is according to the children reading, imagination and thinking.  Chapter five, conclusion and suggestion. The conclusion of this research is as follows: 1. Parents, teachers, friends and the environment together these can be foster children’s reading development. 2. : Increase reading can rich the imagination. 3. Increase reading can help the thinking improvement. And according to the above, following are suggestions. 1. For School: Raise more books funds and library facility. Held a series of teachers / parents together grows activity. 2. For Teachers: Encourage children to a diary writing development. Having the ability in leading children to read. Decorate a reading station in the classroom in order to offer more reading opportunity. 3. For Parents: Substantial reading materials at home and initiative join the reading groups. 4. For Future Research Studies: Focus on the lower socioeconomic status. Research methodology in observing can be assisted. Sample selection of sexual, parents discipline…..etc, can be considered in the multiple studies. Key words: Childhood, Reading, Imagination, Thinking
