Summary:碩士 === 中國文化大學 === 青少年兒童福利研究所 === 93 === Abstract This thesis is exploratory research on migrant brides’ views of children upbringing and their children’s adaptation to higher of elementary school life, peer relationship and self-efficacy. Migrant bride’s children, who study in fifth and sixth grade of elementary school in Taipei County, are taken as the research object. Lamination sampling is applied and 182 migrant brides’ children in 5th to 6th grades in 21 elementary schools (the male =98 person, the female =84 person) were selected as interviewers. Key research questions include: basic variables (sex, age, birth order, academic achievement, the mother’s nationality , father’s education level, mother’s education level, father’s occupation, mother’s occupation, parents’ social-economic status), the parents’ philosophy of education, the child’s peer relationship and the self- efficacy. The parental attitudes, peer relationship, and self- efficacy has shown variation due to fundamental variables. The parental attitudes has shown variation between peer relationship and the self- efficacy. The respondents were requested to complete a questionnaire which include questions such as personal background, family life (parents’ philosophy of educations), classmate relationship (inquiry of peer relationship), self-evaluation for performance (inquiry of self- efficacy). The material obtained is processed through the descriptive statistics, the t test and the one-Way Anova, Scheff`e method, Pearson product-moment correlation, Stepwize regression, Partial correlation. The result has shown that: First, the majority of the respondents are male; most of the children who participated in the study were of 11-12 years old. ; In terms of the birth order, eldest son or the eldest daughter is majority; The academic achievement has shown normal distribution; As to the mother’s nationality, most are from Mainland China and Indonesia; As far as the father’s education background and the mother’s education background are concerned, the father’s occupation is primarily technical worker, the mother’s occupation is mainly non-skill and skilless; for social status rank, the people of IVth level of the majority. Second, " parental attitudes " differ upon "academic achievement", "the mother’s nationality", "the father’s education level", "the mother’s education level", "social-economic status". Third, the "peer relationship" among the migrant brides’ children, who studies the higher grades of elementary schools, differ upon "age", "academic achievement", "the father’s education level", the "social-economic status "; The correlation between different parental attitudes and peer relationship has demonstrated disparity. . Fourth, " the parents’ philosogy of education" has substantial influence on 5th-6th graders with migrant bride. Fifth, self- efficacy of 5th-6th graders with migrant brides, could remarkably differ upon the "age", "birth order", "academic achievement", "the mother’s nationality", "the father’s education level", "the mother’s education level", "the father’s occupation", and "social-economic status"; The correlation between different parental attitudes and the self- efficacy has shown disparity. Sixth, "the parents’ philosophy of education" cause a significant impact on "the self- efficacy” of 5th-6th graders with migrant brides. Seventh, the “peer relationship” among 5th-6th graders with migrant brides is positively correlated with "the self- efficacy". In conclusion, the “peer relationship” among 5th-6th graders with migrant brides is highly correlated with self- efficacy. Furthermore, the parents’ philosophy of education has significant impact on the children. Based on the findings of this study and secondary research, I have provided in this thesis suggestions for non-profit organizations, educational organizations, teachers, parents and future studies.
