碩士 === 政治作戰學校 === 政治研究所 === 93 === The Us-Iraqi War was unique. The United Sates began the war by Pre-emptive Strike against Saddam Hussein. The Freedom Iraq operation was successful due to the use of Shock and Awe attacks. Meanwhile, precision-guided high-tech weapons US Army used made the battlefield look different. Joint operation in the war became the milestone and surely will change future landscape of battlefield. Outstanding performance and recognized military superiority of US forces in US-Iraq war, especially, greatly influenced military strategy worldwide. Closely studying US military actions during the war, it’s obvious that PLA will speed up the process of re-organizing its military theories and high-tech warfare. By doing so, PLA will without question trigger new revolution in military affairs and transform into Chinese military practices. My research aims to discuss the co-relations between US military action, PLA military theories, and PLA new military construction. This paper will also try to compare the difference of expected and actual military development by pointing out the capabilities of enforcing those transformations within PLA. I would also like to highlight the threat deviated from PLA changes and hope those could be a great reference to Taiwan’s future RMA.
