In a global view on the semiconductor industry development structure, the Asian and Pacific region, especially Mainland China, has already become a strategic base for manufacturing development. Among the focus, Taiwan and the Mainland China’s semiconductor industry development tendency catches worldwide attention for market competition. The development tendency of the semiconductor industrial and the trend of profit patterns is observed as the pursuing goal of the business strategy. Due to the successful experience of the Taiwan semiconductor industry, the Mainland China shows their eagerness of imitating and transmitting the production for urgent needs. Underlining the competition, the production value evolved and patternized into the enterprise strategy. And the cognition succeeds the essential pattern, discovers the industrial profit position. This research first empirically analyzes patterns of value migration on Taiwan semiconductor industry based on the theory by Slywotzky (1995). Then, make the comparison on the value patterns of the semiconductor industry in the Two Straits. This research discovered that the development of Taiwan semiconductor industry to the value migration theory with demonstration on the semiconductor industry chain profit position – the IC design sub-industry exhibits higher position than the IC manufacturing sub-industry and IC packaging and testing sub-industry. The profit margin and the profit growth rate seals measuring industry. On the profit pattern evolution, the promotion and development of IC design industry actually echoed the semiconductor industry in reaching the value and the profit sub-area. This must explain the Taiwan semiconductor industry has gained high value on IC design and innovation with better experience in the era of knowledge-based economy and gained better competitive position over the Mainland China.
