Description
Summary:碩士 === 世新大學 === 圖文傳播暨數位出版學研究所(含碩專班) === 93 === Technologies have been improved greatly since last century. From ancient paper to modern flat panel display, how to reproduce color on different types of imaging devices has been recognized as the key technologies in the 21th century. Color management systems (CMS) are widespread for a variety of imaging applications. The goal of CMS is to minimize the image color differences across different imaging devices. The present study focused on the models on evaluating image differences. The aim of the study is to develop a model to predict image differences based on the statistics of images and the measurement of color patches. The first experiment explored the relationship between combinations of various image statistics and its perceptual image contrast. The second experiment focused on the relative importance of skin colors. A comparison has been made on mapping the tolerance of skin colors onto the tolerance of general object colors. The third experiment, as has been mentioned, attempted to use the color differences of 125 color patches plus the statistics of 5 types of images to predict the visual performance of a LCD display on observing the types of images. The outcomes of this study not only help people to further understand our visual characteristics on observing complex images, but also contribute to color imaging industries for creating new standards on image quality assessment.
