Lately in most of high-tech plants which needs lots of outside air, and very concern with the temperature and humidity, put air washer in Make-Up Air Unit (MAU) should be the standard arrangement. This researched thesis and made up the process of the air passing the wet surface, and then, studied the mass and heat transfer for air washer. Besides, present a nondimensional mathematical model and solution program to such air conditioning processes for air washer were presented. It is aimed to simplify the solution of theoretical analysis for air washer. Air and water contact completely and directly in the air washer. The mass and heat transfers are determined by this actual contact area, charactenstics of spray nozzle, spray pressure, … etc. Practically it is difficult to measure the actual contact area exactly. Therefore, this study deduced an numerical model for determining the efficiency of heat transfer and saturation degree by analyzing the experimental data. The results show that the efficiency of heat transfer and saturation degree for air washer is enhanced with higher inlet air temperature. The efficiency of heat transfer and saturation degree is direct proportion to the spray water flow rate. Comparing the arrangement of spray arrangemeat based on the efficiency of heat transfer and saturation degree from high to low is, two-row reverse spray,two-row counter spray, two-row parallel spray, single-row reverse spray and single-row parallel spray.
