It’s unable to surmount these obstacles of concept unless we redefine the concept of economic security first. The purpose of this thesis hopes to introduce social constructivism and macroeconomics into the concept of economic security and thereby builds an analytic framework for interpreting the economic security of Taiwan. The process of this research starts on redefining the concept of economic security and ends in the construction of economic security curve. Therefore, there are four phases in this research process: 1. Redefine the concept of economic security. Redefine the concept of the economic security of Taiwan according to the discussion about security studies and economic security studies. 2. Construct the basic structure of the analytic framework about the economic security of Taiwan (political environment). Introduce Alexander Wendt’s theories about international culture, identity, and interest into the concept of the economic security of Taiwan and thereby construct the political environment of this analytic framework. 3. Construct the economic environment of this analytic framework. Use AS-AD Model to simulate the operating logic of the economic system of Taiwan and thereby construct the economic environment of this analytic framework. 4. Complete the analytic framework for interpreting the economic security of Taiwan. Insert AS-AD Model into the basic structure of this analytic framework (integrate the economic environment with political environment) and construct the economic security curve of Taiwan. The move of economic security curve is influenced by the variables in the political environment and the economic environment. Economic security curve is not only has a capability for interpreting the process of economic threats of Taiwan Government, but analyzing the characteristic and limitation of the economic security strategies of Taiwan Government.
