The community park conservation program was developed by researcher with the goal of changing student understanding of community park conservation within an environmental education module. This project also creates homeland materials by combining the ecological resources of Shin-Chuang city Youth Park through the work of a development team of teachers who provide teachers with proper material to implement school-based local environmental curriculum. A team teaching implementation strategy was used to provoke interaction and dialogues between teachers to help build their expertise in environmental science. An equivalent experiment-control group design was used with 3 intact classes from three elementary schools (n =99). The experimental group received training in a community park conservation program during the intervention period of 2 weeks, while the 2 control groups received no treatment during the same time. Formative evaluation, process evaluation and outcome data were collected with questionnaires to collect quantitative data. A closed-ended, pretest-posttest questionnaire was used to assess the outcome effects. The examination of the data determined the following findings. 1. Students in the experimental group's environmental awareness, sensitivity, attitudes and actions had increased after the community park program instruction. 2. One of the control groups' environmental attitudes had increase but not their environmental awareness, sensitivity or actions. 3. A comparison of the three groups' pretest-posttest questionnaire score determined the program could effective increase students' environmental awareness, sensitivity, attitudes and actions. 4. A comparison of the experimental group's pretest-posttest questionnaire score shows that students' environmental awareness, sensitivity, attitudes and actions had increased in procrastinate teaching effects. 5. Changes in environmental awareness were most important factor leading to students' environmental actions in the research findings. These outcomes support the use of the community park conservation program to positively increase students' conservation action.
