Summary: | 碩士 === 大同大學 === 通訊工程研究所 === 93 === In this paper, a compact circularly polarized patch antenna excited by an open ring with multiple slots is proposed and investigated. It was studied that the antenna size can be reduced to 55.6% in area in comparison with a conventional single feed patch antenna. The largest size reduction is achieved when the length of each slot is equal to the radius of the open ring. It is further studied that input impedance can be improved using more slots. In this paper, we use 36 slots to design a RFID reader antenna which is operated at 902-928 MHz. The measured impedance bandwidth is 124MHz (13.4%) and 3dB axial ratio bandwidth is 23MHz (2.5%)
