Description
Summary:碩士 === 元智大學 === 機械工程學系 === 93 === In this research, the effects of different operating conditions on the serpentine, single-path and dual-path spiral flow fields have been examined numerically and experimentally. The operating conditions include the cell temperature, the humidified temperature and the fuel flow rate. A half cell model has been first constructed, and then the results obtained were compared with experiments. In experiments, it is shown that the cell performance with the dual-path spiral flow field is more stable for all operating conditions. The water generated in this cell diffuses more uniformly over the membrane, which can thus be maintained at a more humidified state, especially when the inlet air is dry. For the single-path spiral type, the flow characteristic is quite similar to the interdigitate type. However, its performance degrades due to the larger pressure drop, which makes the unreacted fuel be exhausted directly from the gas channel.
