碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 化學所 === 94 === What is the growth mechanism that can form such a highly symmetrical molecule like fullerene？Possible answers have been searched actively from experiments and theories. In this thesis, we attempted to make a critical review on the relevant facts reported during 1985-2004. This thesis is composed as follows. In Chapter 1, a brief historical background of C60 is introduced. In Chapter 2, different proposed mechanisms were presented in chronological order. Analysis and categorization of these mechanisms were presented in Chapter 3. A concluding remark is drawn in Chapter 4.
