For productivity, quality and precision, there is a revolutionary improvement, this is metal laser cutting. On the market, the mild steel under 20mm, the stainless steel under 20mm, the aluminum under 10mm and metal tube under 6mm are the main working thickness of laser cutting. Such as aeroplane industry, mechanical industry, electronic industry, auto industry, medical apparatus, sports apparatus, office furniture and so on. The sheet metal parts and tube processing already combine closely with laser cutting. This research takes qualitative and multi cases study to search that the companies stay in Taiwan and via the enterprise operator of six cases, with the relevant theories discussion, this research gets the following discoveries: 1. High-end and the products that are researched and developing, afraid of being plagiarized, most of them choose to stay in Taiwan. Low-end and products that are standardized, not afraid of being plagiarized, will just move to China, 2. The enterprises in Taiwan, most of the enterprises are wholly ownership, and choose to stay in Taiwan. The owner of wholly ownership enterprise is consider investment decision to be relatively positive to develop for a long turn. The enterprises in China, most of the enterprises are joint venture, the shareholder is consider investment decision to be more conservative to make a profit a short turn. 3. The political complexion influences Taiwanese investment in China. The person who has a partiality for green party, the majority of them are not consider to china. The person who has a partiality for blue party, the majority of them can consider to China. 4. The companies, pay attention on staff training, because lay particular stress on research and development of products and whole products value. The competitive strategy is inclined to differentiation. The companies, pay attention on automatic equipment investment, Because, lay particular stress on the parts making and efficiency. The competitive strategy is inclined to the low cost. 5. The companies, making metal products for single industry, invest more resource on research and development, They fear technology outflow, the strategy of vertically link is their partiality. The companies, making metal parts for multi industry. invest less resource on research and development, they are not afraid of technology outflow, the strategy of horizontally link is their partiality. 6. When the order depress, the job of non-core technology, the strategy of partiality is “competition of the price”. When the order surplus, the job of non-core technology, the strategy of partiality is “subcontract and cooperation”. 7. The Taiwanese laser cutting industry, no matter enterprise that process product for single industry or process parts for multiple industries. For the reasons of high profit and risk of dispersing. The two all have a partiality order for small amount and various type. Summarize, in advancing the upsurge that the China investment, it’s doesn’t means the enterprises which stay in Taiwan have no advantage. No matter what laser cut for parts or laser cut for product. If they can make the best of one’s own advantage, both of them have broad development space.
