Summary:碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 教育研究所 === 94 === This thesis, by means of action research, aims to employ picture books to educate a primary school’s Grade 3 pupils with caring ethics. The aims of this action research are as follows: 1. To explore the problems in moral education for Grader 3 students, and to do situation analysis firstly. 2. To look for collaborative partners to proceed with the action research. 3. To plan the project of ‘education for caring ethics’ for the third Graders. 4. To explore the implement process of this action Project. 5. To evaluate and give feedback to the results of this Project. The following are the main conclusions of this research: 1. The researcher, before doing the action research, tried to analyze the relevant features such as geographical environment, school situation, teaching equipments and facilities, and the characteristics of staffs, students, parents and the community. It seems that the researcher could incorporate ethics of caring into the teaching of pupils. 2. The researcher, during the process of action research, found that the ideas and suggestions which were raised by partners were very helpful to focus on the related topics. And, through brainstorming, the research became more delicate and every partner really grew more professionally. 3. There were five steps, when planned the action research Project, emerged in circle: deciding the five issues for caring ethics education, choosing picture books according to that criterion, analyzing picture books, planning the Project in detail, preparing for action. The researcher also tried reflection on/after action. 4. The process of implementation included the researcher as a model, dialogue, practice and confirm. 5. About the assessment and feedback, the researcher found that (1)education for caring ethics did encourage students to care for others, (2) the students’ attitudes and behavior of caring were both improved, (3)picture books are the good media for implementing the project, (4) a student-centered viewpoint is essential when choosing the extensive teaching material, and (5) some strategies of classroom management would work as helpful skills.
