Summary: | 碩士 === 長庚大學 === 化工與材料工程研究所 === 94 === The object of this research is to obtain the adsorption equilibrium data of the liquid binary-component solution of n-hexanol and n-pentanol at room temperature on the granular activated carbon in an agitated adsorption vessel. The highest concentration of the n-hexanol and n-pentanol are limited in 19.35 and 38.99(mmole/l), respectively. To obtain the better parameters compare with the liner-curve fitting and nonlinear-curve fitting. From the results of batch adsorption experiments and mathematical analysis, we can obtain isotherm parameters and diffusivity coefficients. The consistence between experimental results and correlation equations are also discussed.
The ideal adsorption solution theory (IAST) and the Extended Langmuir (EL) model are applied to predict binary adsorption isotherms using the single component adsorption isotherm. The concentration of the binary-component solution covers the range from 2 to 38(mmole/l). The single component isotherms are correlated well using the Langmuir (L) and Freundlich (F) isotherm and the same isotherms, as L-L, F-F, L-F and F-L were used to model the binary n-hexanol-n-pentanol isotherms.
