碩士 === 長庚大學 === 資訊管理研究所 === 94 === The Research on Developing a Model of Implementing CIM Systems for the TFT LCD Manufacturing Industry in Taiwan Optical telecom business is now the most representative high-tech business in Taiwan high-tech industries, among them, TFT-LCD would be the cynosure. After long-term development, Taiwan TFT-LCD industry has been quite famous in the global market, either in productivity or profitability. For now its industrial scale stands the No. 1 place. However, the information era has accelerated the competitive in the market and indirectly pushed the improvement of the technology. TFT-LCD manufacturers have to enhance their competitive, improve their profitability to continuously survive under this severe environment. Thus, we try to understand the methods of applying CIM system by collecting related literatures and build a new suitable; suggested model and provide suggestion for domestic companies to apply CIM system. This is a study of the models of applying CIM system of TFT-LCD manufacturers. We first introduce the definition of CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing), the advantage of CIM system, the process of TFT-LCD (Thin-Film transistor Liquid-crystal Display) manufacturing, the function structure of CIM system and the application of CIM system in TFT-LCD business. We also adopt several case studies to study more about the models of TFT-LCD manufacturers applying CIM system. And according to our conclusion of case studies, we modify the model and hope to build a better example for TFT-LCD manufacturers in the future. We adopt two different industries which are TFT-LCD manufacturing and CIM system provider in order to increase the objectivity and accuracy.
