We collected time intervals between subsequent bus arrivals and analyzed the statistical properties of the city bus transport in Taipei (Taiwan). To describe the correlation between subsequent buses, we used the well-known Nagel-Schreckenberg cellular automaton(CA). We revised the model to reproduce the headway oscillation of bus transport. We set up a red/green light near the bus stop in the model, and tried to derive the results analytically. Numerically, we found that the headway oscillations were caused by the red/green light. Density and velocity are irrelevant. However, we fail to obtain the analytical result.
