The purpose of this research was to investigate the provision of sports facilities in elementary schools in Changhua county and their accessibility to the public. The differences of factors in the accessibility to sports facilities among schools from different backgrounds were also compared. Thirty-eight school administrators of elementary schools from Changhua county, which had been revised with literatures and adopted as research implement.
The conclusions of this research are as follows:
1. The installation of sports facilities in Changhua county elementary schools: higher frequencies in track and field areas, outdoor basketball courts, and outdoor ball counts. All other facilities are infrequent.
2. Accessibility of facilities to the communities: for outdoor facilities, more than 70% of track and field areas, outdoor basketball courts, and outdoor ball counts, while others are comparatively lower.
3. The factors, which influence their accessibility to communities, in order of their importance, are: safety, human resources, system, budget, management, facility resource, and managers.
4. Schools from different types and sizes have no significant differences.
