Stratified sampling is applied in this study: the common convention of dividing Taiwan into northern, central, southern and eastern areas was used, and juveniles from twelve remotes towns drawn from central and southern areas were surveyed. A total of 405 questionnaires were issued, from which 352 valid ones were obtained, which makes a validity rate of 86.9%. Descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, Tukey-test and correlation was used for data analysis and verification tasks. Our findings are as follows: 1. Generally speaking, juveniles in these remote areas are satisfied with their circumstances. Levels of satisfaction toward accommodation, food and entertainment are higher than those toward clothing, transport and education. 2. Juveniles in these remote areas do not have a high degree of participation in leisure activities. Their degree of participation in activities they consider to be entertainment is higher than for activities considered to be hobbies, sports, social interaction or a form of learning or training. 3. Juveniles in these remote areas are generally content with their lives. Of the three parameters used, they expressed the highest degree of satisfaction with the quality of their leisure activities, followed by their education and then their home environment. 4. The standard of living of juveniles in remote areas is determined mostly by their own level of education and the level of education of the father. 5. The degree of participation of juveniles in remote areas in leisure activities depends mainly on their level of education, the level of education of the mother and the length of time they have lived in the relevant location. 6. Degrees of satisfaction with life showed no significant divergence between juveniles of different family backgrounds. This suggests that family backgrounds have no objective influence on how the juveniles perceive their own personal circumstances. 7. There is a positive correlation between the variables of standard of living, degree of participation in leisure activities and degree of satisfaction with life of juveniles living in remote areas. 邊瑞芬 2006 學位論文 ; thesis 101 zh-TW
