Description
Summary:碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 紡織工程所 === 94 === This research project is focused on study of a composite filtration material made of polytetrafluoroethylene membrane laminated to polyester nonwoven fabric. The project includes two parts: (1) synthesis of the composite material under variable lamination temperatures to investigate the temperature effect on the surface properties of the membrane, porosity and permeability of laminated fabric, and the degrees of bonding between the two components; and (2) study of mechanical properties of the composite filter. In the lamination experiments, there was no addition of adhesive or other bonding media in order to eliminate blockage of porosity of the filter material by these adhering aids under the high temperature molten state. The experimental results reveal that when the lamination temperature increased from 240 oC to 270 oC, the permeability of the filter material started to degrade. The change of process temperature also generated significant effect on mechanical properties of the composite material. It was further discovered that a lamination temperature of 255 oC would maximize the filtration functions of the composite material, while maintaining its good mechanical properties.
