Summary: | 碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 環境工程與科學所 === 94 === To investigate the temporal and spatial characters of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and the relatives with ozone in the central of Taiwan, field sampling and GC/MS analysis were completed during spring and fall in 2005. In addition, the contributions of VOCs emission from variation sources were also investigated by the factor analysis method.
The results of analysis showed that there were more than one hundred organic compounds in the seasons. They were mostly paraffins and olefins. The concentration distribution varied at every altitude, especially at 300 m. The compounds of VOCs were richer in fall than in spring and the concentration higher.
The data of VOCs were analyzed by SYSTAT software. The results indicate that paraffins and olefins are the mainly hydrocarbons influencing ozone formation. But the 22 kinds of paraffins and olefins compounds concentration relatives (according to the U.S. EPA method TO-15 ozone precursor mixtures) weren’t enough to explain the ozone formation in the lower atmosphere. The regression equations were also estimated based on the concentrations of ozone and the other target ozone precursor which identified from GC/MS analysis. The regression equations showed that the r-square (R2) of each coefficient of determination based on total are much better to explain ozone formation. Some hydrocarbons were caused second order in the regression equation influence on the concentration of the ozone. It conjectured that the hydrocarbons in the lower atmosphere react to each other. It caused VOCs in lower atmosphere were more complex, and also influenced the mechanism of ozone formation.
From the factor analysis method, the mobile source is the mainly source of hydrocarbons.
