The Future Development of Leisure Industry of Hot spring---A Case Study of Jiaoxi Hot spring Area

According to the relevant references and the hot spring industry in Taiwan, the questionnaire is used as the tool to investigate the reef brook hot spring area, where the factors "the transportation problem ", "the hotel quality ", "the dining culture", "the hot spring quality" and the population statistic variable are used. The major subjects were tourists who spent their leisure time in the reef brook hot spring area. The 682 effective samples by picking decide the sampling way. Then the stating statistics, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, multiple assay, and Logistic Regression Model are used to analyze these data. In addition to the results of the data analysis and the interviews with the professionals from the real estate, official, educational filed in Yi-Lan County, the SWOT is also used to analyze the current situation in the leisure industry in the reef brook hot spring area. Also, analyzing the impact occurred after the Taipei-Yi-lan highway is on the service to predict the development of the leisure industry in the reef brook hot spring area. Hoping this study may provide the public and private departments the references to improve. Among the 682 questionnaires, “the hot spring quality” is the most important factor the tourists regard. Besides the attention to the water quality paid by the tourists, the result also indicates the tourists think the providing of hot spring should be part of the accommodation facility and the convenience the hot sprint hotel owner should provide to the tourists. The hot spring was classified age and subject should be the strategy of management in the future. In terms of the transportation, the tourists think a no-barrier environment should be created and the transportation network to the other cities should be increased and improved. As for the hotel quality, the hot spring area was associated with "pornography" before, and there are still many improvements needed in the facility and the service now. In the dining culture, the tourists hope a place where the hot spring facility, accommodation and special meals are provided can be established. For example, the SPA hot spring& delicacies is a place where the tourists can be provided with the delicacies, fitness center and therapy. The restaurant where the reasonable and variable meals are given is more easily accepted by the tourists. From the deeper interview, the future development of the reef brook hot spring area and the transition of the hot spring leisure industry demand the efforts from both the public and the private departments. In summary, based on the research in the reef brook hot spring area, four developments are proposed as below. Firstly, the industry transition. The leisure industry is headed to the healthy development. Secondly, the exploitation of the sightseeing spots. The versatile services will be provided to meet the tourists’ needs in the future. Thirdly, the sustainable management of water resource in the hot spring area. The hot spring regulations will be activated in the future to effectively use the hot spring resources. Fourthly, the whole plan and the beautifying environment. Building an environment which is closer to the customer in the visual side, thoughts and beautiful appearances.
