碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 應用統計學研究所 === 94 === The evaluation of banking operational performance, one side, it can afford positive competition among banking, on the other hand, it can intensify intendance and examination of banking as well; further more, it can be as the reference to investors. So the purpose of this research is to evaluate the operational performance of Taiwan middle size banks in the stock market, use the “grade” in order to present the operational performance in each bank. This research through the meaning of finance index sign, there are two financial indexes, ratio and percentage. This research want to using the ratio type finance index sign depends on its relativity or absolute to decide whether standardize, then through appropriate function conversion become hundred-mark system, finally, give the weight of five dimensions to calculate each score with whole bank. The research period is the whole year of 2004, and the sampling banks include 9 banks are Ta Chong Bank, Farmer Bank, Union Bank Of Taiwan, Far Eastern International Bank, Cosmos Bank, En Tie Commercial Bank, Hsin Chu International Bank, Tai Chung Commercial Bank, The Chinese Bank. The empirical research shows the operational performance of our all sample banks in Taiwan, the first 3 banks are En Tie Commercial Bank, Cosmos Bank, Farmer Bank.
