碩士 === 華梵大學 === 資訊管理學系碩士班 === 94 === The advantages of RFID（Radio Frequency Identification）technology over bar codes have been widely known in recent year, due to its ability to reduce the problems of manual-scanning error, data damage and data storage limitation. However, the biggest benefit of RFID in commerce is its potential contribution to the value chain in industry to reduce non-value operations, such as storage and product checking, and to provide extra information in logistic management. Enterprises also begin to expect that RFID can be used to enhance logistics efficiency, to reduce product shortage, stock surplus, theft, and other problems. Nevertheless, before making an investment in new technology, enterprises always need to evaluate all kinds of affecting factors and possible benefit. So, the goal of this study is to build an analytic model in the application of RFID and to provide guidance to business. Our model combines the value-chain theory and Davis’s TAM theory to discuss RFID’s value in enterprises logistics application. This model studies those factors, such as industry environment, organization and system provision, and their effects to other two factors, the perceived usefulness and the perceived ease of use. Our research results indicate that the compatibility factor has great influence on the perceived usefulness, and the next important factor is environment uncertainty. The cost factor has great influence on the factor of perceived ease of use, and the next major factor is the compatibility. Moreover, the cost that enterprises can afford is the most important one in the external factors. The perceived ease of use has also shown notable influence on the perceived usefulness, and these two factors have significant influence on the factor of intention of use. This result is consistent with most other studies using TAM. In addition, in the investigation we also find that, currently, the popular cases of the RFID application in the enterprises are “not considerate temporarily, but will use it in near future” and “in planning”.
