碩士 === 義守大學 === 管理研究所碩士班 === 94 === Since Michael Porter proposed the concept of industry cluster in 1990, researchers have derived a lot of explanations from different aspects in academic world. They tried to conclude the reasons of forming the industry cluster, and put forward the competitiveness analysis of advantages and disadvantages in the future. Thus, when examining this question further, we will detect that there are relevant effects in the industry development. The success of certain industry often prospers other related industries that develop a new cycle again. Suppliers and customers connect this kind of industry cluster, which usually gather together on specific geographical areas. This research focuses on the phenomenon of liquid crystal industry cluster in Southern Taiwan Science-based Park, and the competitive advantage and financial performance brought after industry clustering. We utilized case study to analyze the establishment and development of the six liquid crystal related companies locating in Southern Taiwan Science-based Park, and make them in detail summary and analysis. Furthermore, our primary purpose is to understand how the company obtains the competitive advantage by the clustering effect, and work through it to help the company reach the goal of more grow-up.Conclude the proposition as following via the results of study: (1) the clustering phenomenon becomes more intact and expanding. According to the high pay and munificent bonus, it can attract and keep the high-quality human resources; (2) the reasons of the industry clustering are not only on account of the companies obtaining sufficient electricity and water in the scientific park, but also the improvement of the living quality and traffic facilities; (3) the forming of industry cluster is the more favorable to approach the knowledge resource. It not only makes the manufacturers cooperation much closer, but also gains more collaboration with academic institutions; (4) the more of the leading enterprises lasts investment, the more completeness of industry clustery is; (5) the more intensive industry clustering effects, the more scale economy we obtain. In this case we can reduce more cost on materials, production, and transportation; (6) the liquid crystal industry cluster contributes to accumulating innovation, new business model to better efficient production procedure, and new market development.
